A poem for Jane on her 76th Birthday.....

The Chimp Lady

They call me, “The Chimp Lady”.
I believed I could,
Become known to the world.
I am persistent.
I never give up,
And always keep striving for more.
I am patient.
I wait for the right moments,
To make contact with the chimps.
I am determined.
When I was a child,
I knew I would work with animals.
It takes bravery.
Some things I do,
None of the other researchers,
Dare to accomplish.
To study the chimps,
Was one of my biggest dreams.
My life is a series of goals,
And I,
Jane Goodall,
Am making them a reality.
