Founded by the renowned primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall, the Jane Goodall Institute is a global nonprofit dedicated to wildlife research, education and conservation. The primary focus of the Jane Goodall Institute Hong Kong office is "Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots", an education program which empowers young people to care for the environment, the community and animals through action.
With over 150,000 members in more than 120 countries, Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots is an environmental and humanitarian education program and a global network of people making a difference in their communities.
Roots & Shoots
With Roots & Shoots, groups identify, research, plan and take action to solve issues facing animals, the environment or humans. With the support of Roots & Shoots staff and resources, young people are empowered to engage with their community and create positive change.
Disney Community Organic Farming
The program is jointly organized by the Jane Goodall Institute (Hong Kong) and Hong Kong Disneyland. Participants include local students, ethnic minority students, young people with special needs and hospital patients.
